As well as retreating from your daily life, you will have the opportunity to deepen your yoga practice with 2 yoga classes daily, including vinyasa flow for all levels and yin/restorative yoga, healing and rejunvenating for the body, mind and soul. Two optional workshops will be held during the retreat (learning natural, efficient and injury free ChiRunning and ChiWalking, and taking yoga off the mat into your daily life, including some yoga philosophy and an overview and discussion about the eight limbs of yoga). All yoga classes and workshops are optional although highly encouraged.
Massages and spa treatments are available onsite at Maya Tulum, and optional activities and excursions may be arranged on arrival (such as snorkeling, stand-up paddleboard, biking, hiking, and visits to beautiful lagoons, caverns and popular Mayan ruin sites at Tulum). The yoga classes will be a blend of Vinyasa Flow and Hatha, linking movement with the breath, moving your body through both yin and yang postures. The classes will be theme-based, creative and balanced and will incorporate pranayama (breathing), strengthening, stretching, detoxing, energizing, and meditation. You will experience a safe and nurturing practice, leaving you feeling relaxed yet energized.

Maya Tulum has a large and exquisite split level restaurant cabana with cool marble floors and white limestone walls. Enormous windows offer stunning views over the ocean and coastline with turquoise Caribbean Sea lapping the white sand. The restaurant serves mostly vegetarian meals, as well as fresh fish and seafood options. Enjoy a smoothie or drink from the bar any time. Dietary requirements can be accommodated.
Free wifi is available in the restaurant and front desk reception area, although we encourage you to disconnect from technology as much as possible!
Flights to Cancun International Airport (CUN) start around $450 round-trip from SFO or LAX, and $320 from NYC. We recommend booking early to lock in a great flight deal!

Maya Tulum is 1.5 hours drive from Cancun Airport. Airport Transfer by the retreat center is available for $80 per person each way and will be coordinated closer to the retreat.
Sally Mitchell, RYT 200 Hour Yoga Teacher, Certified Massage Therapist, Reiki Practitioner, ChiRunning and ChiWalking Instructor, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
Sally began teaching and healing through yoga, natural running/walking techniques, massage, energy healing and health and wellness coaching to share with others what has helped her to heal her own body, and discover a path of transformation and greater self awareness. Her passion is to help people to move their bodies with greater ease and to awaken to their inner desires and passions, becoming happier and healthier. Through her own personal experiences and learnings, Sally also integrates personal transformation and wellness coaching, inspiring change, growth and a deeper sense of purpose. Sally's yoga classes consist of flowing sequences, linking movement with the breath, incorporating both power and restorative poses, pranayama and meditation, for balanced, mindful and energizing practice. Check in is 3pm on the day of arrival. Check out is 12pm Noon on the day of departure.
The retreat will begin on the day of arrival with a 5pm Yoga class followed by an Opening Circle then dinner. The retreat will end on the day of departure with a 7am Yoga class followed by a Closing Circle then breakfast.
Beach towel, water bottle, alarm clock, flashlight and batteries, day pack, sneakers / walking sandals, insect repellent and after bite, tea tree oil for bites, sun block, bathing suit, cotton pants, t-shirts and shorts, yoga clothes, sunglasses, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided), camera, cash, passport and travel insurance documents. Non-US Citizens may require a Visa. Please contact your airline or passport office beforehand.
Beach Towel - Please bring your own beach towels. Bath towels or blankets should not be removed from the cabanas for use on the beach.
Yoga Props - Yoga mats, blocks, straps and blankets are provided. However you may bring your own if you wish.
Cash - We recommend bringing cash for massages and bodywork, ($70-$120 per session), excursions, taxis, entry fees, shopping, diving, equipment rentals, food and bar drinks. Please bring small currency ($1s, $5s and $10s) because the front desk is limited in giving out change.
Maya Tulum's accommodations are beautiful and elegant cabanas on the beach, many with stunning ocean views, crafted and designed and by local Mayan artisans. Each secluded thatched-roof cabana has its own unique features, all designed to let in lots of sunlight, fresh air and the sounds of nature and the ocean.
Each cabana has its own well-appointed bathroom, distilled water dispenser, a safe for valuables, daily maid service and lovingly tended landscape. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot, with the balance due 90 days prior to the retreat date. Or you may pay in full at the time of booking. If the retreat is less than 90 days from the date of registration, the full amount is required.
